Bought my S-Max in January 2008, by August 08 it had been back to Ford 5 times and by that stage they had to send a technical engineer over from Ford UK to look at the car! The engine management system was messed up and simply would not start.

But it doesn't feel robust, like it would break off in you hand after using it a hundred times or so. And it reminds me of another car I'm not fond of. The first time I saw this adjuster was in the new-at-the-time Ford 500. Not a fan.
The same principle holds true for the rest of the Sonata's sheet metal; it's a riff on the Ford 500's riff on the Audi A6.
