Unlike the Ford Grand C-Max, which was the first car to use the same architecture as the latest Ford Focus, the Mazda5 is still based around the platform that spawned the 2004 Ford Focus, small Volvos and original Mazda3.
So, Mazda 5 or Ford Grand C-Max? It’s true that the Grand C-Max has better steering feel and will appeal more to keen drivers. But mums are going to want those electric sliding side doors.
Even my old 1989 Ford Granada had a proper alert for low fluid washer level. Consequently it seems somewhat of a retrograde step, especially given how safety conscious most manufacturers are these days.

lineup with European verve, Ford will be releasing the seven-seat Ford Grand C-MAX in the U.S. in fall 2011. When the Grand C-MAX reaches our shores, it will probably arrive with a different name.
