Deuce coupe is a slang term used to refer to the 1932 Ford coupe, derived from the year of manufacture. In the 1940s, the '32 Ford became an ideal hot rod.
The Cozzi-Nielsen friendship began when a wide-eyed boy on a bicycle spotted a chopped 1929 Ford roadster powered by a snarling flathead V-8. Instead of shooing the kid away, Nielsen invited Cozzi for a ride to the gas station.
Other finalists for the Goodguys/Eagle One 2005 street rod of the year were a 1932 Ford Roadster owned by Gai Wilson of Louisville; a '32 Ford Roadster by Paul and Eric Hansen of Discovery Bay, Calif.
