Jaguar today confirms it will introduce an exclusive new model to top its highly acclaimed XJ luxury sedan range at the forthcoming New York International Auto Show March 25 through April 3.
The Jaguar S Type V8 Sedan gathers up all the features of the previous model and beefs up the performance specifications with an eight-cylinder DOHC engine that explodes with 281 horsepower and 287 lbs-ft of torque.

Jaguar shows that bigger can be better
Bigger usually just means heavier when it comes to cars, but because of its extensive use of strong but lightweight aluminum, Jaguar was able to stretch its XJ sedan into an even bigger and better model for 2005.
Jaguar says the 18.4-cubic-foot trunk is the biggest in its class, and has a power-closing decklid. Ford's newest Taurus has more interior room and shorter overall length, but its trunk is bigger. That skimpy Jag tail exacts a bit of a penalty.
Jaguar says the torque spread is thanks to a variable-geometry induction system and continuously variable cam phasing which adjusts the timing of the intake valve opening and closing, depending on engine speed, load and oil temperature.

I think Aston-Martin, Lagonda or Jaguar shouldn't produce SUV class automobiles. It is just like Land-Rover producing roadsters... I thought at Geneva we'll see Lagonda branded Rapide

The ride is acceptable if not to Jaguar standards, the seven-speed automatic 'box slurs changes without slip and the steering is light and positive. No wonder you see so many of these cars being used in city centres.
Seats a little un-supportive for long trips. Not as fresh as a Jaguar seat after a long run.
Good economy for long distances.

Right off the bat, you'll find the Thunderbird is not unlike a Lincoln LS in its interior space, handling and road manners. And it throws a bit of Jaguar S-type performance and ride into the mix too.
flacksaw: that is EXACTLY what you did. As if subie is some kind of gauge that Jaguar should be using or anyone for that matter.
The V6 is much more in the Jaguar S-Type mould and altogether closer in performance and general ambience than you might think. In fact I would go so far as to say that In some respects it is better - more of which later.
