Jeep promotes the Grand Cherokee as a full-size SUV, but that's only partly true. In its physical dimensions and towing capacity, Grand Cherokee is a mid-size, like the Ford Explorer or Chevrolet TrailBlazer.
Jeep is one of those unique brand names that have become more influential in the marketplace than the vehicles that carry its logo.

My first vehicle was a '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my friends and I fabricated an enormous intake using two cone filters and parts from Home Depot. I'm not sure how much performance was gained from the contraption, but the Jeep sounded like a beast.

The question still remains, however: Will people use it as such, like your average 4x4 Jeep or Chevy? Or will it just become another shiny, luxurious status symbol relegated to everyday, menial tasks on paved streets?
It only just fits and the family in the Jeep Cherokee in front of me have been watching me squeeze my way through the train. They come to take a look the car, like what they see and return to their Cherokee. While I'm waiting, I read a note from GM.
Consequently, the first volume-produced versions of the car's chassis were military vehicles, the Jeep-like Kübelwagen Typ 82 (approx. 52,000 built) and the amphibious Schwimmwagen Typ 166 (approx. 14,000 built).
