It goes up against cars such as the Land Rover Discovery, Mitsubishi Shogun, Nissan Pathfinder and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The same year, in fact, that we ran a comparison with the R8 and a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. And that was about a year before we had a Long Term R8. But the R8's appeal hasn't worn off.
After a week, it started to grow on me. Most people said that apart from the front, it reminds them of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I agree. It might not be the prettiest thing on the road, but it sure isn't the ugliest.
