The Kia Sportage is an inexpensive new vehicle that's fun to drive, can handle off-roading, and is smooth and comfortable on city and highway streets.

The 2011 Kia Sportage EX comes standard with a capable, willing and refined 2.4 liter 176 horsepower/168 lb. feet of torque that works in tandem with Kia’s very smooth six-speed automatic which is good at keeping this engine in its power band.

The all-new 2011 Kia Sportage is more of the same, and that's a good thing. Kia chief designer, Peter Schreyer, has waved his wand over the outgoing model and transformed its sheetmetal into a more modern, eye-catching, youthful and fun version.

Overall, the 2011 Kia Sportage met our expectations during our few weeks with it. Outward visibility is generally admirable, although the rearward view is slightly obstructed by large rear roof pillars (a common issue with crossovers, of course).

it's the same engine in Elantras, Tucsons, Kia Sportage, Spectrum. They have improved it with variable valve timing. Sorry people, these engines are bullet proof. Grab yourselves a book called Lemonade.
