Though Mario Felice Boano is not a household name in the States, he became well known in Europe as the author of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint and the Lancia Aurelia B20.
In addition the original Mazda Cosmo, Alfa Romeo GTV6, Alfa Romeo 75/Milano, Lancia Aurelia (fourth series onwards), Lancia Flaminia, Volvo 300-series and Rover P6 are examples of production vehicles using this suspension.
One of my all-time heroes, Giovanni Bracco, drove a Lancia Aurelia to second place in the 1951 Mille Miglia while chain-smoking and quaffing brandy.
In my opinion one of the prettiest automotive designs in history. Next to the Ferrari 250 GTO SWB, Mercedes 300sl, Lancia Aurelia etc...
Light weight body with nice use of some aluminum panels.
