Lexus ES300 Car Review
Twelve years on the Australian market has seen the Lexus nameplate slowly but surely grow in stature to represent cars of the highest quality finish and with excellent reliability records.

The Lexus ES300 is an excellent example of the importance of the near-luxury car. It is the company's best-selling vehicle, accounting for over half of total Lexus sales.

Lexus ES - What the Auto Press Says
The 2011 Lexus ES ranks 8 out of 21 Upscale Midsize Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 55 published reviews and test drives of the Lexus ES, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

Lexus ES300: Truly Sublime
Some find it strange that Lexus offers two sedans in the entry luxury market, but the strategy makes sense when you look at the two cars side by side.

The Lexus ES is all-new for 2007. Boasting a new 3.5-liter engine, the 2007 Lexus ES 350 is more powerful than last year's ES 330. In fact, the Lexus ES with this new engine is now a serious performer.

For 2007, the Lexus ES 330 has been retired, and replaced with the all-new ES 350. As with previous ES models, it is based on the Toyota Camry, which was also redesigned for 2007.

Lexus ES350 Review
As part of the evaluative process, I cracked open the ES350's owner’s manual. Check it: there’s a "Lemon Law Guide" to help customers find legal recourse should their Lexus fail to, well, anything.

The Lexus ES 330, a much-refined cousin of the Toyota Camry, represents the most luxurious (and least sporty) take on the entry-luxury segment.

The Lexus ES 350 is the easy choice for non-enthusiasts; its cabin isn't too rich to be noticeable, the ride and handling aren't as numb as they used to be but are still forgettable, and the design's uninspired but innocuous.

The Lexus ES350 gets slammed for being the mechanical twin of the Toyota Camry, yet the Lincoln MKZ (twins with our long-term 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid) doesn't attract the same derision -- perhaps because many people don't care?

The Lexus ES is a a family of mid-size luxury sedans launched by the Japanese maker in 1989 and now being already in its fifth generation (starting 2006).

As we mentioned in our model review of the Lexus ES 350, "For every person interested in a sport sedan, there are probably three luxury sedan buyers more interested in 'wood trim,' 'comfortable ride' and 'easy to drive.

Aluminum trim adorns the cabin instead of the glossy wood treatments found in the Cadillac CTS, Hyundai Genesis or Lexus ES 350. Overall, the surroundings have a more austere look and feel, much like an Audi.

To see a Lexus estate car is still a novelty, but the new IS 300 in SportCross guise is destined to become a familiar sight, especially at petrol stations. In the meantime it attracted attention whenever we stopped.

While this car isn't as smooth as a Cadillac, it is definitely comparable to the Lexus ES 300 for the model year. We've had no major reliability problems, except for some loud brakes.

The first time you lay eyes on the LaCrosse, you brain registers Lexus ES 350. But this wouldn't be an entirely fair comparison, as the Lexus looks rather mundane sitting next to the LaCrosse.

"We see tremendous potential for Lincoln in new categories, including the medium premium segment, where we will be competing with the Lexus ES330, Acura TL, Infiniti G35 and Cadillac CTS.

Volvo also says that its S80 has the largest passenger compartment in a luxury-sedan class that includes the Audi A6, Lexus ES 300 and GS 300, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the BMW 5 Series and the Acura RL.

It's a sad commentary on vehicle style when the most memorable part of the car is an utterly bizzare rear lamp treatment. Looks like a Camry (or a Lexus ES) with a case of the vapors!

Hyundai is aiming the well-appointed full-size Azera at competition such as the Lexus ES, Toyota Avalon, Ford Taurus and Buick LaCrosse. Options on the base GLS include leather seating, heated front seats, and power tilt/slide sunroof.

NP even thinks the Solara's cabin is quieter than a 1990 Mercedes Benz 190e and a 1994 Lexus ES-Class she rides in often. Pretty good competition. NP's only complaint is relatively minor although it is worth noting.
