The Lexus IS 250 and IS 350 sport sedans are quick, responsive and fun to drive. Designed to compete with BMW 3 Series sedans, the Lexus IS models are built on rear-wheel-drive chassis tuned for sporty handling.
The Lexus IS 300 is comparably priced with the more conservative Lexus ES 330, but is targeted toward a younger audience. While the ES 330 uses a V6 and front-wheel drive, the IS 300 uses an inline-6 and rear-wheel drive.
The Lexus IS series of cars are compact vehicles, close in exterior dimensions to a Toyota Corolla. Space is not necessarily at a premium, but it is not abundant in the cabin, with some drivers possibly finding it a bit snug.
The Lexus IS 430 is a one-off vehicle built to study of the considerable performance potential of the IS 300 luxury sport sedan. There are no plans for a production version.

The Lexus IS received its last updates for the 2009 model year, so it's a little surprising that Lexus has already decided to offer a few more improvements. This information comes to us by a leaked brochure that shows those improvements.
The Lexus is expected o be exceptional in every category and really the only question is whether it lives up to expectations. PA's Lexus generally does not disappoint. he notes that his real only complaint is with the instrument panel illumination.
Infiniti is to Nissan what Lexus is to Toyota. Not that Infiniti is meant to be the same as Lexus - company officials are adamant that Infiniti is about performance and then luxury.
Lexus is not advertising magnetic ride suspension, Acura is. Lexus does not advertise it because they do not yet use it. Are you just copy and pasting your previous post??
What about a Lexus IS-F GT500 going toe-to-toe with GT-Rs and NSX's in Japan's Super GT series? Or a Land Rover Discovery LM GT1?! Stripped out and lowered, with a race-tuned V8, it could be the new Espace F1! ...
It's noteworthy that the hybrid Lexus is not designed to show off its environmentally friendly breeding. Aside from the subtle design changes, a small 'h' on the nameplate is the only external clue to the powertrain's technology.
Although it very much looks the part in race trim, the LF-A competed in the production class at the Nurburgring, which means it's not very far from the road car that Lexus is expected to reveal later this year at the Tokyo motor show.
The current Mercedes C-class and Lexus IS are shorter and narrower. BMW says it has achieved this growth while also making the 3-series 40kg lighter, with a high-strength steel body that's also 10 per cent more rigid.
What's it up against?
Natural matchups occur with the Infiniti G37 convertible as well as the Lexus IS 250 C, not to mention a pair of front-drive Swedes named Volvo C70 and Saab 9-3.
There is no tougher automotive segment in the world than the compact executive class, which has long since been ruled over by the BMW 3 Series. And the Lexus IS runs its German rival impressively close, clearly out-pointing it in some areas.
