Lexus LS400 Car Review
The new Lexus LS400 mightn't look a whole lot different to the old model, but in reality, there's not much that hasn't changed. Ninety two percent of the LS400's parts are new, compared to the previous model.
The Lexus LS is built to last - and it makes it a great luxury saloon. There's only one engine on offer but it's a cracker: it's refined and all that power is channelled perfectly through the standard six-speed automatic gearbox.
The Lexus LS430
The first thing you notice about the Lexus flagship upon entry is the size of the thing, with a dashboard and steering wheel that looks transplanted from the Toyota Landcruiser-based LX470, or a Mack truck.
I don't drive Lexus LS430s (or LS400s for that matter) as often as I would like. There is always the temptation to not return the car when Lexus wants it back, and then I'd be in trouble.
Yet out on the road it offers a better impression of driver “feel' than any previous Lexus LS. It isn’t perfect because it isn’t linear. Electronics have taken over from castor and mechanical precision.
These are reviews of the standard size Lexus LS, rather than the LWB version. Reviewers are slightly critical, saying that the rear legroom lacks slightly.

We did the same back in 2005 for a Lexus LS430 and it still has cost nothing more than scheduled service and it was bought at 1/2 the price of when it was new (w/a 100k warranty we didn't have to use). We'll be keeping that one.
Up against the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the Lexus LS and the Maserati Quattroporte, the Audi S8 has its work cut out to come top of the class. Yes, it's quicker than the previous model but raw straight-line speed doesn't mean class-leading handling.

well i dont think the s-class is the class leader in terms of technology. the lexus ls is far ahead and much of the "new" equipment on this s-class such as the drowzy thing have been on the ls for a while now...
