The Lincoln MKX was a late arrival to the luxury crossover scene in 2007, where it was pitched against established models like the Lexus RX, Acura MDX, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and BMW X5, to name a handful.

The Lincoln MKR concept introduces a new design language of “elegant simplicity' on a four-door coupe that also features environmentally friendly amenities and fuel-saving technology, including its TwinForce™ engine.

The Lincoln MKZ comes with a 263-horsepower 3.5-liter V6, and the six-speed automatic transmission with which it's matched features manual gear selection, something the Fusion and most other Fords do not.

The Lincoln MKZ is styled in conservative fashion, creating a prim, proper effect. The one exception is a big, chrome grille, which Lincoln is using across its line in an effort to instill brand identity.

Those who spend enough time in luxury cars will feel a little cheated when first sitting behind the wheel of the Lincoln MKS. There is a lot of blank real estate on the center console, which is different from most luxury cars.
