The Mazda2, also known in some markets as the Mazda Demio, has come a long way since it entered the market in 1996.
In 1996, the 121 name was shifted to export versions of the Mazda Demio, a tall, five-door hatchback, which became exported as the Mazda2 in its second generation.
Hmm, apart from the foregone Ford description of its place in motordom, and an unkind reference from a colleague that it was a late take on the Mazda Demio, It is essentially a mini-MPV.
