I had the Mini Cooper S this past weekend (I didn't notice the A/C stink) and I once again realized the vast improvements made to this car over the original new Mini.
And for the Mini Cooper S there's a third, exclusive version: a centrally positioned sports rear silencer in the new AC Schnitzer Racing tailpipe design.
Before the Mini Cooper S, small cars were slow - the Cooper S was the very first pocket rocket.

The MINI Cooper S Countryman is bigger and more versatile than any other MINI model, with four doors and available all-wheel drive. It is taller, wider and heavier than its siblings, and in the process has lost some of its MINI-ness.
The Mini Cooper S earned acclaim with Monte Carlo Rally victories in 1964, 1965 and 1967.
The Mini Cooper S is equipped with a turbocharged version of the same engine, stiffer Sport suspension, performance exhaust system, and 16-inch alloy wheels; 17-inch wheels are optional.

This is the 300 T. It has a 307bhp Turbo-powered engine courtesy of Brodie Brittain Racing and it will do 160mph in a straight line.
The Mini Cooper S comes standard with a 1.6-liter, transverse 4-cylinder, supercharged engines that produces 163 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and delivers 155 pounds-per-foot of torque at 4,000 rpm. We offer additional Mini Cooper specs, too.

The pick of the range is the zippy THP150 petrol engine, which is also found in the DS3's rival, the Mini Cooper S. While it's not staggeringly quick, it is fast enough to be fun and offers decent shove throughout the rev range.
In this Mini Cooper horsepower is 115 with torque 111 lb-ft.; the Mini Cooper S thanks to supercharging (which means no turbo lag) gets 168 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft of torque.
Fiat 500 Abarth fills a unique niche — track day-ready car for $23,995. Its nearest competitor appears to be the Mini Cooper S at $28,950.
The Mazdaspeed 3, new GTi, and MINI Cooper S lead the way from across the ponds. Stateside, the Dodge Caliber SRT-4 and Chevrolet HHR SS bring more mass and muscle to the party.
The basic 1.1 litre petrol engine has an impressive amount of urge - to the extent we can't see much point going further up the range. CZT is quick, if not quite a match for Mini Cooper S.
