The Mini Cooper S Works is fluid, refined, fun, and very fast. Aside from the engine's dramatically increased oomph, which is expected to cut the 0-to-60-mph time by three-quarters of a second to about 6.
Following (actually chasing is the more appropriate word) Gerard gave us endless opportunities to explore the MINI Cooper S Works' enhanced performance. From the moment you roll off the line, the powerband's bump up is immediately apparent.
The last cars to be made with the Tritec engine will be the "BMW MINI Cooper S Works GP", a lightweight, race-prepped John Cooper Works model.
