Enter the Saturn SKY, a daring little ragtop that shares its underpinnings with the Opel GT and Pontiac Solstice (other Opel collaborations include the Aura sedan and Astra hatchback).

The 2007 Saturn Sky takes its style from the Vauxhall VX Lightning concept, and has a twin in the export-only Opel GT announced at this year's Geneva Motor Show.

The Saturn Sky is built on GM's new Kappa platform shared with the Pontiac Solstice (and Opel GT in Europe).
In the early 1970s self repairing bumpers were introduced and after a while they became mandatory (thus killing the Opel GT).
It looks sooo good in white, although those vertical intakes either side of the number plate look a bit randomly plonked - they don't entirely mix with the rest of the design, and are only there because of the Opel GTC Concept - but overall if you ...
It would have made an interesting Chevy, but of course it's a Saturn (except in Europe, where it will be the Opel GT).
