Overland models use Jeeps Quadra-Drive, optional on Limited ($550). Quadra-Drive combines the Quadra-Trac II transfer case with Vari-Lock axles, which use hydromechanical torque-transfer couplings between the wheels.
Premium Overland Model Added The new Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland model combines the 4.7-liter high output engine with a high level of standard equipment and premium appointments, making it the most powerful and luxurious Grand Cherokee yet.
The upscale Overland model has a richly-appointed interior which includes Redwood Burl wood trim on the dash, doors and steering wheel, a total of six white-faced gauges, leather seats with suede inserts, and a high-quality two-tone plastic finish.
Ok so you are going to get a lot of car for your money at £35,400 you will be hard pressed to find a similar 4x4 which includes all the features that come as standard on the Overland model, but actual running costs are not going to be cheap, ...
Adding to its appeal is a competitive price tag. A top-spec Overland model costs £43,995; you’ll pay £7,500 more for a Touareg with the same amount of kit.
The 3.0-liter diesel engine is optional for 2WD and 4WD Overland models, as are Sirius Backseat TV and rear DVD entertainment.
Jeep has also made the premium infotainment system standard on the Overland model starting this year, meaning buyers will get a system with an upgraded interface at no extra cost. Otherwise, the Grand Cherokee seems hard to beat.
