The Plymouth Prowler was first introduced at the 1993 Detroit Auto Show and began production in 1997. It is one of many daring production cars produced by DaimlerChrylser, a company well-known for innovative designs.

You would've thought a retro reissue of Hitler's people's car would've fallen down the same rat hole that swallowed-up the mustachioed Plymouth Prowler, Chevrolet's WTF SSR and Ford's turkey T-bird. But no.

At the time, Chrysler had planned a new look for Plymouth, previewed by the Plymouth Prowler "hot rod". Styling cues from the Prowler, particularly the grille, were used to create the Plymouth Pronto concept in 1997.

We've seen this all-show and no-go trick before. The retro-styled Plymouth Prowler was more show than go. The personal pickup Lincoln Blackwood was good for show too, but not so...

By the way, Tulsa seems to have some strange affection for burying cars. In 1997 the city interred a Plymouth Prowler with instructions to unearth the factory-built hot rod in 2037 as part of the celebration of the city’s 100th anniversary.

Using that chassis, and a body of his own design, Mr. Williams built his first Diva in 1993. Its appearance is a cross between a Lotus Seven and Plymouth Prowler, but it's not delicate, like the Lotus, and it'll handle twice the power of the Prowler.

Because this is one car to be seen in and, believe me, everyone will be looking at you. There simply isn't any other production car like it anywhere except the car that spawned it, the Plymouth Prowler.
