When you think of what Herbert Austin, William Morris, Sir John Black, the Riley brothers, the Wilkes brothers and so many more put into the industry and then look at what we have now, not exactly cheering is it?

It was 1959 actually, and it took about five seconds before BMC’s product planning boffins produced variations on the theme such as the Traveller, Moke, Van and Pickup, plus the Riley Elf, Wolseley Hornet and Clubman.

We particularly like GM’s decision to plonk the Camaro GS on its SEMA show stand still coated in the dirt, brake dust and battle scars of a hard day’s racing: the car has been used as a working prototype for Riley’s race tuning, ...

Other names which people of my generation would remember, would have driven, are gone. Including Talbot, Panhard, Wolseley, Austin, Sunbeam, Humber, Morris and Riley.

These cars are a sight to capture in your memory forever - only on a rare occasion will you see such a collection of historic cars - from Frazer-Nash, Bugatti and Riley, to former Le Mans racers and visiting modern sports cars.

The basic engine is also a popular choice for specially-built streetable sports cars like the Panoz and De Tomaso as well as pro race cars like the 500 horse Riley & Scott endurance racers.
