Saab has some interesting news, like a fleet of electric 9-3 sedans testing future EV hardware and a four-cylinder turbo for the new 9-5 that can run on 85 percent ethanol.
Saab 9-5 (pronounced nine-five) is available in three trim levels, or Forms. The 9-5 Linear, Arc, and Aero each offer a distinct personality.
Saab 9-5 2.3T Aero sedans ($35,465) and wagons ($36,465) have the same powertrain and standard equipment, but add a lowered sport suspension, sport seats, metallic interior trim, and power steering calibrated for increased effort.
The Saab 9-5 is a four-door, five-passenger luxury car offered in sedan and wagon body styles. In other words, there is no holding back on the features with respect to all phases of driver satisfaction, including performance, safety and comfort.
The 2011 Saab 9-5 Aero's ride is a bit firmer than that of its German competitors (more so if you engage the DriveSense sport mode), but its variable dampers work to mitigate the nastier bumps and prevent harshness.
The car was the Saab 9-5 2.2-litre 125bhp TiD turbo diesel introduced here earlier this year.

With the Saab 9-5 getting all of the attention over the Saab, the Swedish car maker is looking to freshen up its entry-level 9-3 with some new styling. Fuel economy is said to be 12 percent better in the diesel version (which we won't get, of course).
The car is based on GM's Epsilon architecture and is built in the same plant in Trollhättan, Sweden, that builds the Saab 9-3 and the Saab 9-5. Sales began on March 2006, with a station wagon joining the line for 2007.

0T, at least in my mother's Passat, is seriously slow at the revs. My 9 years old Saab 9-5 with a much larger turbo spins up to full boost much faster. But I was hoping that on the Golf R of all cars VW would have taken steps to remove this problem.
