ROADABILITY: The Saturn SL2 is at its best around town and on smooth highways. Its ride is firmer than is traditional in American cars, but this makes for better maneuverability.
The Saturn SL2 Sedan comes with touring SBR tires and fifteen-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers for a finished look. Each vehicle has front wheel drive, and the standard transmission is five-speed manual.
Toyota might have been forced out of the small car business if the 1999 Saturn SL2 had been introduced a decade ago. During that time, however, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, and Toyota have refined each successive edition of their own small cars.

I bought a 97 Saturn SL2 from a Ford dealership October 2007. I had a 97 Ford Escort, but it died on me, so I bought the Saturn; it only had 59,400 miles on it.
