The Subaru Outback Automatic, What a piece of junk! Words cannot express my disappointment at this so called "car".
The Subaru Outback is an estate than can cope in the mud. The reviews aren't great. Journalists that have reviewed it say that there are better rivals out there that offer the same space and versatility.
Having finished my somewhat unenthusiastic impressions of the 6-cylinder Subaru Outback those good people at Page One Automotive in San Francisco came up with a 4 cylinder version of the very same car which enabled me to form back to back comparisons.
And this year, when our family planned a 10 year reunion in Cape Hatteras, my brother informed me he would be driving down from Boston with his wife, son and dog in his new Subaru Outback 2.5 XT. He asked me if I thought it would make it on the beach.
