I bought the new Yaris having looked at most of the other cars in its class first. Having a preference for European cars in the past it took a while for me to consider a Toyota, but i'm glad I did.

The Toyota Yaris has an appealing look to it. We never warmed to Toyota's previous subcompact, the Echo, which tried too hard to look different and ended up looking just goofy.
So with the Toyota Yaris 5-door liftback, you get quite a car for the base price of $13,300. We would recommend the $1,580 power package particularly because it includes the versatile folding rear seats.
With gasoline prices being what they are, the introduction of the economical Toyota Yaris hatchback comes at a propitious time.

You get five doors for a start - at $1400 below the equivalent Toyota Yaris - plus a surprisingly roomy back seat, with good head room and adequate leg room.
Ford hasn't offered a subcompact in more than a decade. Now, it's responding to steady sales of the Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, and Nissan Versa by bringing us an adapted version of the well-received and very successful European 2011 Ford Fiesta.
