Its closest competitors are probably the Saab 9-3 convertible and the aforementioned Volvo C70 folding hardtop convertible, both of which are more expensive.
It was quite interesting to compare ‘my’ Focus to a Volvo C70 and S30 with basically he same floorpan. Volvos don’t have the same programmable steering that gives you the option of three levels of assistance.
With its fourth-generation 3-series convertible, BMW joins the trend toward retractable hard tops--following the likes of the Mercedes-Benz SL, the Volvo C70, and the Volkswagen Eos.
