This family of vehicles, loosely based on the same architecture as the Volvo S80 luxury sedans with some detail changes to the suspension systems, also uses the same Swedish Haldex all-wheel-drive system as the Volvo when it is ordered as an option.
Although the basic underpinnings are a throwback to the Volvo S80, improvements developed for the Lincoln MKS and a new rear suspension help avoid compromising either ride or handling.
My uncle has had a Volvo S80 2.8 petrol, and he used to get 30mpg. Ford petrols are really gutsy. The car is very nice to drive. The grip is immense. It puts other cars in its class to shame. Gearbox is perfect. It has 125bhp so it's not slow either.
