Base coat: The primary coat.
Benched: An area where a cat is kept and displayed when it is not being judged.

'Usual' - A rich golden brown with an apricot base coat ticked with black. The nose leather is tile red and the paw pads are black or brown. 'Sorrel' - A rich copper colour with an apricot base ticked with cinnamon.

All Siamese have a creamy base coat with coloured points on their muzzles, ears, paws and lower legs, tails and (in males) scrota.

Its markings are those of the Siamese - basically, an ivory base coat with darker markings, called points, on the face, ears, legs and tail.

The base coat colours are black, blue, chocolate and lilac, all of which come in three coat patterns - 'tipped' which has a sparkling appearance created by a coloured tip on a white hair; ...

Siamese Cat: A slender, elongated cat with a creamy base coat with colored points on the muzzle, ears, paws, lower legs and tails.
Siberian Cat: A breed of moderately long to longhaired cat with a tight undercoat.

Shading heavier than that of tipped varieties, but not as heavy as smoke, giving the impression of a darker mantle over a white base coat.

Darker colour covering face on pointed breeds.

The agouti hair must have several bands of color. Wild hare appearance has a mandatory mouse base coat with reversed ticking having the lightest band at the top and ending in a darker band near the skin. Medium to dark brown bands for the spotting.

In silver colours, a particular gene inhibits the base coat colour, leaving the ticking on a white undercoat. Each colour has its own special appeal. In some states chocolate and chocolate silver are being bred.

Blue is a tawny dilute with pale underparts and blue-gray ticking. Fawn is a dark cream with copper ticking. Silver is another dilute of tawny, with a warm base coat that fades to white.Rare colors include lilac and chocolate.

Blue: a dilute form of the Tawny with pale underparts and bluegrey ticking. Fawn: a dilute version of the Cinnamon appearing as a dark cream and copper. Silver: another dilute version of the Tawny with a warm base coat lightened to white.
