Bronchitis in Cats: An Overview
Bronchitis refers to the inflammation and irritation of one or more of the large upper airways, known as bronchi, and sometimes the trachea, which is commonly called the 'wind pipe.

Bronchitis
Inflammation of the bronchial tubes, of which the symptoms are depression, chills, coughing, and loss of appetite. The most common kind of bronchitis is caused by respiratory diseases.

Canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2) causes respiratory disease in dogs and is one of the infectious agents commonly associated with canine infectious tracheobronchitis, which is also known as kennel cough.

Kennel Cough: Tracheobronchitis of dogs or cats.
Killed Virus Vaccine (KV): A vaccine containing dead viruses which cannot multiply when administered in an animal, but can stimulate an immune response to prevent future infection by the virus.

Kennel Cough - Infectious Tracheobronchitis
Kennel Cough presents as a dry, hacking, coarse cough, retching and gagging. It often sounds like your dog has got something caught in the back of his throat ...

In cats, both acute and chronic inflammation of the lower airways is denoted collectively as feline bronchitis, or feline bronchopulmonary disease (FBD).

With chronic bronchitis, exercise may induce a cough. When pressure is put on the animal's collar a cough may be stimulated. It is important to note when and under what conditions your animal coughs.
