Burmilla History
The Burmilla breed is a relatively new cat breed originating in the UK in the 1980s. True to its name, the Burmilla cat breed is a cross between the Burmese and the Chinchilla Persian cat breeds.

The Burmilla is a short-haired cat, similar in size to the Burmese, which comes from the cross-mating of Burmese and Chinchilla cats.
Burmilla cat Origin
The Burmilla was originally created accidentally in the United Kingdom. Two cats, a Chinchilla Persian named Sanquist, and a lilac Burmese named Faberge made a history.

Burmilla Cat Temperament:
The Burmilla has the best features of both the Burmese & the Chinchilla. They have the playful nature of the Burmese without being overly active, and the quiet, laid back nature of the Chinchilla.
BURMILLA COAT COLOURS
All recognised Burmillas are either silver tipped or silver shaded. Some may show the presence of two burmese genes.
Burmillas are judged in one of the following groups: i.e. in each group a certificate is awarded.
Burmillas weigh between 7 - 7 kgs.
Feeding
The Burmilla is an active cat and requires 80 Kcals per kg of bodyweight per day of food. These cats are not generally prone to obesity and regulate their own diets very well.
The Burmilla is an elegant, medium-built cat of foreign type and modified Burmese conformation, with a shimmering coat that comes in more than 30 colours, ranging from a pale cream to black. The female is much smaller and more delicate than the male.
The Burmilla is a gentle, intelligent and extremely affectionate cat with an exceptional temperament.

The Burmilla Cat Club was founded in England in 1984. Recognized by the G.C.C.F. in 1989 and by the F.I.Fe in 1994.

Burmilla
The Burmilla was the result of an accidental cross between a Chinchilla male and a Lilac Burmese female.
The Tiffanie and its shorthaired version, the Burmilla, got their start in 1981 in London.
Like the Burmilla, resulted from accidental matings. Combines the silver tipping with the Ocicat pattern and type. Very experimental, only 2 litters existed at the time of writing though the breeder intended to develop the breed.
Asian Shaded cats are striking cats, which are the founding members of the group and commonly known as Burmillas. Their type is inherited from their Burmese parentage and the shaded coat comes from their Chinchilla Persian side.
