Cherry Eye in Cats: An Overview
'Cherry eye' is an eversion of the ocular nictitating membrane (third eyelid) caused by hypertrophy and prolapse of the gland associated with that membrane.

 


Cherry eye: Prolapsed gland of the third eyelid.
Chestnut: Solid warm brown color of cat.

Finally A condition called "Cherry Eye" can affect either the traditional or contemporary Burmese cat. The third eyelid comes out and reveals the tear duct. It can be corrected through minor surgery.
