Color class: Divisions created by cat associations to classify certain types of coat colors or patterns, such as shaded colors or parti-color.
Colorpoint: Catıs face, ears, tail and legs pattern.

 


There are twelve accepted Ocicat colors divided into eight color classes with all specimens possessing darker spots which appear in deep contrast to a lighter background.

There are 5 color classes: solid, tabby, tabby with white, parti-color plus the other Maine Coon colors. The allowed patterns are: classic tabby (blotched), mackerel tabby (stripes) and patched tabby are the only recognized patterns.

SPECIAL NOTE: Bengals may be registered and shown in the New Breed and Color Class in TCA, Inc. since April 1994. They may also be registered with TICA (since 1985), ACFA, CFF, UFO, CCA (Canadian), and in various European associations.

The breed was presented to TICA's board of directors in 1990 and was accepted into the New Breed and Color class. The CFA accepted the breed for registration in the Miscellaneous class in February of 1992.

The breed sports four color classes: solid, tabby, tabby with white and parti-color. Patterns include the classic tabby, the mackerel tabby and the patched tabby.

Orientals come in solid, smoke, shaded, bicolor, particolor, and tabby color classes, making possible over 300 possible colors and patterns.

Associations: The Himalayan is accepted in all major cat registries. In CFA, ACA, and GCCF, it is considered a color class of the Persian rather than as a separate breed.

The non-pointed Persian colors resulted from additional breeding a Himalayan to a Persian. The "Himi" follows the same cat show standards as the Persian in CFF as to their type and are shown in separate color classes from the Persian.
