Colourpoint Shorthair - a Siamese-type cat registered in CFA with pointed coat colours aside from the traditional CFA Siamese coat colours; originally developed by crosses with other shorthair cats.
Colourpointed Ragdoll - The colour of the points are well defined and the points cover the mask, ears, paws and tail. The nose leather and paw pads should be the same colour as the points.
Himalayan cats ("Himmies") are called "Colourpoint Persians" in Europe, whilst "Himalayan" is an American term. They are a cross (a hybrid) between Siamese and Persians.
Looking at these cats today it would be easy to assume that the sire had been either Siamese, Colourpoint or Birman.

British Shorthair cats can be bred in "self" or "solid", which are all one colour, as well as the colourpoint, tabby, shaded and bicolour patterns.
There are many variations on pattern ranging from the 'preferred' pattern, consisting of a white inverted 'vee' on the face and white boots, to a colourpoint which has no white points at all.

They were followed in the 1950s by Canadian breeder Ben Borrett, whose goal was to create a longhaired cat with colorpoints. First known as a Colourpoint Longhair, the new cat was recognized in 1955 by the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy.
Other recognized colors include black, cream, chocolate, lilac/lavender, bi-colour, tortoiseshell (tortie), tortie and white (calico), tabby, tipped and colourpoint. British Shorthairs are easy keepers.
Their coat is thick and dense with a bouncy, crisp feel. Most have deep orange eyes. Tabbies can have green eyes and Colourpoints have blue eyes but with all colours the deeper and richer the eye colour the better.
