Short: crisp and dense, fine texture, not lying flat and with a good undercoat. Every hair should be uniform in colour to the roots except in tabby and silver varieties.

The first Import was Senty Twix Crispuss, a Cream Bi-colour with copper eyes. Crispuss arrived in 1962 at my Bluemead Cattery. This was quite an achievement as British breeders had very few born in 1962 to establish the breed over there. Mr.

The British Shorthair has a crisp, plush coat, dense and waterproof, over a compact, cobby body. It has a full chest, and medium to short thick legs. The Shorthair is a working cat, and it personifies this standard with power and strength.

British Shorthairs have short, plush coats that are often described as crisp or cracking, referring to the way the coat breaks over the cat's body contours. They come in all of the major color and pattern groups, including a pointed Siamese pattern.

The British Shorthair has a short, extremely dense plush coat with a crisp feel to it making you want to bury your hands in its luxurious pile.

Spotted: The spots should be dark & clear, with a crisp outline with a good contrast to the background colour. The spots can be either solid, arrow shaped or as rosettes.

Vegetables should be fresh and crisp. Look for a selection of different varieties of dark, green leafy veggies and root veggies such as carrots, and green leaf lettuce. Stay away from beans and rhubarb.

The coat is short, well-padded with a crisp texture, which varies with coat colour. Sparse furnishing in the ears and no tufts between the toes exemplify the Manx as a shorthair cat.

Body is very powerful, especially in males. Cheeks are full, giving a chubby chipmunk appearance. Nose is short and snub. The coat is short but slightly longer than other shorthairs. Firm, crisp texture—plush and dense.

Ears: medium in size.
Eyes: large and round.
Coat: medium/long, dense and smooth, undercoat, crisp, ruff desirable, bushy tail.
Colors: "All colours and point colours without white are recognized" ...

Their coat is thick and dense with a bouncy, crisp feel. Most have deep orange eyes. Tabbies can have green eyes and Colourpoints have blue eyes but with all colours the deeper and richer the eye colour the better.
