DNA: Chemical substance that makes up chromosomes.
Domestic: A nonpedigreed cat.
Dominant: The prevailing gene member of a gene pair.

DNA: A unique genetic makeup.
Domesticated: A term used to describe an animal that has been tamed or reclaimed from a wild state.
Domestic Longhair (DLH): A longhair cat of mixed or unknown parentage.

DNA
DNA - deoxyribonucleic acid, which is contained in chromosomes and is responsible for the transmission of hereditary characteristics from one generation to the next

DNA - Deoxyribonucleic acid.
Doctoring - Another world for neutering.
Doe Cat - Early term for a female cat.

Now that DNA testing has placed the Sokoke in the Asian Group, it is not surprising that some of the Old Line cats have the oriental voice and extreme legginess of other members of the Asian Group or that they sometimes throw pointed kittens.

However, DNA testing on the Sokoke indicates that the breed is a domestic cat, I am told.
Origin
It is not uncommon for new breeds to be discovered (e.g. the American Bobtail and Munchkin - there are others).

TRANSLOCATION - A DNA sequence with the ability to move and become inserted at a new location of the genome.
TRISOMY - An extra chromosome, in addition to a homologous pair of chromosomes.
TUFTS - Cluster of hair growing close together.

The first is a strand of genetic material, either deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA). Unlike living cells, viruses will have either DNA or RNA, but not both.

According to legend, it is a hybrid offspring of a domestic cat and a bobcat, but DNA testing has failed to show that Pixie-Bobs are directly related to bobcats. Directly related would indicate identical Y-Chromosomes or limited Marker match testing.

as a domestic breed, having been DNA tested for wild genes, and found to display none. After 13 years, the cats are perfect pets, being non-destructive and as easy to care for as any other domestic.

Thankfully, the kittens were not related as DNA proved and, also equally thankfully, they were male and female. It was not known prior to breeding them what their heritage was, or even if they were a particular breed.

DNA testing shows that Pixie-Bob cats are domestic, and not wild or an exotic hybrid, as the early advertisements had alleged, but some people are still unsure if this is entirely true.

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus: A virus that invades the cat's DNA and uses it to reproduce, causing dysfunction of the immune system.
Feline Leukaemia: A group of diseases that often cause cancer and death.

The poxvirus infection is caused by a DNA virus from the Poxviridae virus family, specifically from the Orthopoxvirus genus. This is a relatively common transmitted virus, but it can be readily inactivated by several types of viral disinfectants. ...

This is also known as DNA testing. It is very specific and sensitive. Not all pets have the spirochete in their blood cells. If a blood sample is tested, a false negative may occur. The best sample for testing is the fluid from an affected joint.

This cat however has green eyes, so I wonder if it's the white coat among many other things in DNA which is the cause? Since we had other two cats at home, it was adopted by Pershian university students.

Most of these legends revolve around the idea that the Pixie-Bob originated from a mating between wild bobcats and domestic cats. DNA evidence does not support wild origins, but it remains a popular story.

Scientists have found two animals in Maine that are part lynx and part bobcat. The U.S. Forest Service's genetics laboratory in Missoula, Montana used DNA testing to prove the animals were the offspring of a female wild Canada lynx and a male bobcat.

It is more difficult to isolate Bordetella from samples taken from cats who are chronic carriers but show no signs of clinical illness. PCR tests are available to identify the bacteria's specific DNA rather than identifying the bacteria itself.

Some have classified them as "Felis lybica", while others maintain they should be classified as "Felis taita" It may be the case that they fall into another species all together. When they have completed their DNA studies at UC Davis the riddle may ...
