General Description
The Donskoy is in a class of its own. It is a highly intelligent, beautiful loving cat that looks directly into your eyes and seems to penetrate your very soul.
Donskoy, Don Hairless, or Don Sphynx - a hairless cat, but that has a "peach fuzz" type of coat. This is mutation cat breed whose characteristic hairlessness is caused by a dominant gene.
The Don Sphynx is a Russian breed of hairless cat, also called Don Hairless, Russian Hairless, Don Bald Cat, Donskoy and Donsky Sphynx.
Petersburg, Russia as the result of experimental mating of a Don hairless (Don Sphynx or Donskoy) male called Afinogen Myth and an Oriental Shorthair female World Champion Radma von Jagerhov, by a well known Russian felinologist named Olga S.

Rostov-na-Donu is located on the Don River, hence the name "Don Sphynx". Genetically, they are unrelated to the Sphynx breed, which originated in Canada. They are also known as the Don Hairless, Russian Hairless, Donskoy, or Donsky Sphynx.
