The Exotic Shorthair/Exotic Longhair is a hybrid breed of the Persian. Established by breeding a Persian to a American Shorthair or Burmese.
Exotic Shorthair (and Exotic Longhair) come in all Siamese and Persian colors, including odd eye and blue eyed bicolors and calicos. While the lovely kittens were delightful they did not look like the American Shorthair.

When two Exotic Shorthairs are crossed, they may produce longhaired kittens called 'Exotic Longhairs' by the C.F.A. but considered Persian by other registering bodies. Externally they look like Persians.
Other associations handle the longhaired Exotics differently. For example, TICA allows them to be shown as Persians, ACFA recognizes them as Long-haired Exotics, and UFO, CFF, AACE, and CCA recognize them as Exotic Longhairs.
