FIE: Acronym for Feline Infectious Enteritis, also known as panleukopaenia Fillers: Meant to increase volume, chemicals and other indigestible material that are added to pet food.
FIE is caused by the Cuterebra larvae of the adult botfly. The adult botfly lays its eggs near the entrance of a rabbit, mouse, or other rodent’s den. When the eggs hatch, the larvae attach to the hair and skin of a host'rodent.
