How FLUTD is Diagnosed
Since FLUTD is not actually a disease, it is technically inaccurate to say that it can be 'diagnosed,' any more than vomiting or diarrhea can be 'diagnosed.

Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) was formerly called 'feline urologic syndrome' or FUS, and is now more commonly called 'feline idiopathic cystitis' or 'FIC'. 'Cystitis' is the term commonly used to describe bladder inflammation.

FLUTD: Acronym for feline lower urinary tract disease, a blanket term referring to a number of conditions in the lower urinary tract such as infection and bladder stones.

FLUTD
This covers a wide range of lower urinary tract disorders (diseases) from mild Cystitis to total blockage and is a very common cat health problem.

FLUTD - Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (same as FUS).
Foetus - The second stage of the unborn kitten, develops around 2-3 weeks of gestation.

FLUTD affects cats of both sexes, but tends to be more dangerous in males because they are more susceptible to blockages due to their longer, narrower urethrae.

Only about 20% of FLUTD cases involve bladder stones, about half of these are struvite, and half are calcium oxalate stones. Crystals are not the same as stones.

has developed a revolutionary patented eco-friendly litter that has the ability to help indicate Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD).

Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD): Urinary tract disease causing urethral blockage and kidney stone formation.
