What is a fungus?
Fungi (plural for fungus) are different from both viruses and bacteria in many ways. They are larger, plant-like organisms that lack chlorophyll (the substance that makes plants green and converts sunlight into energy).

A fungus enters the cat's body via a wound and forms a tumor like mass beneath the skin. There is an opening to the skin's surface that drains "a granular material"5, white, yellow or black in color.

Ringworm is a fungus infection affecting the hair, skin, and nails. Humans contract it either by direct contact with the cat or by the spores shed from an infected animal.

Valley Fever is caused by inhalation or ingestion of infectious microorganisms released by spores of the fungus, Coccidioides immitis.
