Gestation: Period of pregnancy. Cat pregnancy lasts between sixty-three and sixty-nine days.
Ghost markings: Faint striping or spots on kitten coats that disappear with maturity.

The gestation period of a female cat starts from the time it mates with a male cat, till the kittens are born.

The gestation period for a female Serval is 66-77 days, almost three months. The litter consists of two or three young (called kittens), sometimes as few as one or as many as five.

The gestation period for a cat is between 60 and 67 days with the average being 63 days. It is easy to remember, nine months pregnancy for humans, nine weeks pregnancy for cats.
Gaining Weight ...

The normal gestation time for cats is 64 to 69 days, roughly two months. Around the time for delivery (queening), the female will seek out a secluded nest. It may be in a closet, under the shrubs, in the hayloft, or in the center of your bed.

After a 65 day gestation period, the female gives birth to two or three kittens in a secluded den. The young suckle for approximately one month and then begin to accompany their mother on hunting trips when they are about 3 months old.

The domestic house cat may have up to 3 litters a year, the period of gestation being about 65 days. An average cat litter is of four or five kittens. Kittens are born blind, and the eyes open after about 10 days.

There can be many issues when breeding different breeds and/or species together due to differences in anatomy and gestational periods.

BREEDING: Same as other domestic breeds. Gestation averages 63 days and litter size could be 1 to 9 kittens, average 4 to 5. F1 queens tend to have smaller litters.

If the infection occurs later in pregnancy (10-24 weeks of gestation) the infant may have serious or fatal congenital defects including hydrocephalus, blindness, and mental retardation. Most infected pregnant women do not have symptoms.

They are more sensitive to medicines and anesthesia. Maus also have an unusually long gestational period. The maximum normal period for cats is 69 days, although Siamese may take a day or two longer. For a Mau, 73 days is still considered normal.
