~ Havana Brown ~
The Havana Brown noted for its warm, chocolate brown colour originated in Great Britain. Brown cats have been known for centuries. Their origins were probably from South East Asia as a branch of the Royal Cats of Siam.

The Havana Brown is noted for its warm, chocolate brown color that reminded an early breeder of a Havana cigar. The breed did not, however, come from Cuba; the breed originated in Great Britain in the early 1950s.

The Havana Brown's most obvious characteristic is its beautiful brown short coat. It is a cat of the Siamese body type, but with a head longer than it is wide, narrowing to a rounded muzzle. The eyes are green, and the ears tilt forward slightly.

The Havana Brown is a lively, playful cat. They are extroverted and enjoy being around people, though they often become attached to one person. They are curious, and even mischievous, but not overly destructive cats.

Is The Havana Brown Right For You?
When a cat breed has a name like Havana Brown, it can only come in one color, right? Well, actually, the active Havana Brown comes in a rich Chocolate color or an attractive Lilac color.

the ACFA HAVANA BROWN Standard

Havana Browns tend to use body language to get their point across, and this breed is known to take well to a harness and lead.

The Havana Brown cat is also known as the Swiss Mountain cat and was well known in England since the early 1980s. The cat received its name because their dark brown or chocolate coats resemble the color of Cuban cigars.

The Traditional Havana Brown was originally hybridized in England and later in the U.S. by crossing Siamese, Burmese and Russian Blues. The certainty of how the breed got its name is unknown.

Havana Brown
The Havana Brown is an "engineered" breed, in that the breed was developed by breeding black domestic cats carrying a brown recessive gene with a seal or chocolate point Siamese.

HAVANA BROWN
This breed is another fairly recently developed type, having been systematically derived in the late 1940s in Great Britain. The Havana Brown is a medium-sized cat with a lustrous chocolate coat as its primary calling card.

Another is a chocolate cat that could be the ancestor of the Burmese (and/or the Havana brown). A third is a blue cat, quite possibly the forebear of the Korat.

The coat is smooth and lustrous and feels like mink. The Havana Brown has a playful personality. They are a people cat and enjoy human companionship. This is the perfect cat for the person who wants a sociable, affectionate and intelligent pet.

Either way, the Korat can be deemed one of the oldest domestic cat breeds, along with its compatriots, the Siamese, Burmese, and Havana Brown, also described in the manuscript.
