Cat ICFIdiopathic

Icteric: Affected by jaundice which causes yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes, often caused by liver failure.
Idiopathic: Of, relating to, or designating a disease having no known cause.

The cat usually becomes icteric or jaundiced, as evidenced by a yellow color in the whites of the eyes or in the skin. At this point, the disease will be fatal if not treated rapidly and aggressively.

An animal with certain types of injuries to the cells in the liver will also have an elevated level of bilirubin. An animal with an elevated bilirubin level may appear icteric (jaundiced).
