The Lambkin has Provisional status. Cat Breeds in this category have an adopted Standard
but may only be shown in the NEW BREED and COLOUR classes.

One of the most famous Chinchilla cats was known as Silver Lambkin and it is believed he was the originator of this distinctive colouring and he went on to win many of the major awards at the Crystal Palace Show in London in 1888.

Scheuer-Karpin rescued her after she saw her wandering the gardens of the Hufeland Hospital amongst the ruins of war-torn East Berlin, and named her Lammchen (Lambkin).

Silver Lambkin, born in the late 1800’s, is generally regarded as the first Chinchilla. This cat became quite famous, winning most of the major awards at the Crystal Palace Show in London in 1888.
