Longhaired Abyssinian. Agouti coat, colors and build as for Abyssinian. Longhaired kittens appeared in Abyssinian litters from time to time but were originally considered undesirable. Also found in silver series (silver base colour).
Somali: a semi longhaired Abyssinian. Burmese: Slightly more compact than many other SH breeds, with more rounded features. Comes in a range of colours from cream to brown. Tortoiseshell or solid.

Also known as the Fox Cat or the Longhaired Abyssinian, the Somali is medium-sized and muscular, with well-balanced proportions and an overall sleek, athletic build.
These semi-longhaired Abyssinians were considered to be inferior in the 1920s and 1930s and were just considered house cats.
Although essentially a longhaired Abyssinian, the Somali has characteristics all its own. The most notable difference, besides fur length, is size; Somalis are larger than their Aby relatives. Dense fur adds to the appearance of size.
The Somali is longhaired Abyssinian, the latter being known in the UK since the mid-1880's, having originally come from Abyssinia, (now Ethiopia). They are very intelligent, outgoing and enjoy the home life.
