Oriental type-cat with triangular head, prominent cheekbones and huge ears; curly, wavy, Rex-type fur. Descended from a curly-coated feral which fathered a similar kitten named Kirlee.

 


The Oriental type is very distinct. The body is long and tubular, the ears noticeably large, the head wedge shaped (triangular), the neck and legs are long and the tail pointed and whippy1.

The Oriental Longhair, formerly known as the British Angora, is a breed of cat that features a tubular, Siamese-style body (known in the cat fancy as oriental type), but with a longer coat than the short-haired Siamese.

English version: Oriental type without whisker pinch or stop. American version: slightly triangular with significant pinch and stop. Slightly rounded skull. Jowls allowed in adult males. Long, angular muzzle. Strong, angular, firm chin.

Foreign - body shape is less slender than the oriental type, but a cat is rather athletic. A cat has long tail, long legs, large ears, almond-shaped eyes. Example of this type of cats: Turkish Angora, Abyssinian Cat, Russian Blue, Somali.

Its body is graceful, showing well-developed muscular strength. Striking a balance between the heftiness of the cobby and the sveltiness of the oriental types, it is an alert, active, strong, colorful cat of medium size.

She was brought to America in the late 1950s and was mated with a Siamese. That cross gave the Cornish Rex breed its exotic oriental type, including its whippy tail, long wedge-shaped face and startlingly large, wide-set ears.
