Praise: Positive reinforcement.
Pre-Disposition: A condition of special susceptibility, as to a disease.
Pregnant: Carrying developing offspring within the body.

Do not praise or coddle the cat after it has stopped the aggression. Wait a while to let it know that you are still the boss. Alternatively, feel free to praise good behavior and reward with treats.

Give the cat praise and attention when he and the baby are in the same room. That will help him associate the baby with things he likes, and he won't see the need to compete for attention.

Just to balance the praise - worthy though it no doubt often is - with an alternative experience, I have a male ragdoll cat whose just under 1 year old.
