The Scottish Fold Longhair is known by four different monikers, depending on the association and area you live in. ACFA, AACE, and UFO refer to the breed as the Highland Fold.

By 1986, it was officially recognized as a separate breed by TICA (The International Cat Association), though it was given the name Scottish Fold Longhair.

Perhaps the Scottish Fold long haired cat is more easy going than the short haired cat. They are undemanding and gentle. Longhaired Scottish Folds are called Scottish Fold Longhair, Highland Fold, ...

Cymric (longhaired Manx), Scottish Fold Longhair, Longhair Japanese Bobtail etc etc. Some are bred by crossing different breeds: Tibetane/Tibetaan (longhair Tonkinese), Nebelung (from Russian Blues and domestic longhairs).
