Semi-Feral: A cat which, though not domesticated, still lives near and is accustomed to humans, such as barn cats.
Semi-Longhair: A type of longhair cat without an extremely long coat, such as the Maine Coon.

Baker created the foundations of the Ragdoll breed by selecting kittens out of Josephine, a semi-feral longhaired white female Persian/Angora type, sired by several unknown male Birman-like or Burmese-like cats, one with Siamese type markings.

Some have suggested that this breed descended from crosses of semi-feral domestic cats and wild raccoons, although this is not scientifically possible.

If feral or semi-feral, provide shelter that the cat can have access, especially between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on sunny days. On housecats you can try using sun block cream on the affected areas.

Too often tabbies are thought of as semi-feral alley cats and deemed to be low in cat hierarchy. Anybody that has ever shared their home with a tabby will know how amusing, intelligent, and warmly affectionate, beautiful tabby cats can be.
