Coat
Undercoat pure white with red tipping shading down from the back to the flanks and lightly on the legs. Face and upperside of the tail to be tipped with colour.

 


Shaded Colors:
Chinchilla Silver: Undercoat a pale silver or silvery white. The coat on back, flanks, head and tail sufficiently tipped with jet black to give the characteristic sparkling silver appearance.

The undercoat, chin, ear furnishing, belly, chest, the inner side of the legs and the under side of the tail are silvery white.

Shaded Silver - A striking cat with a silver undercoat heavily Tipped with black.
Sire - The male cat responsible for the production of a litter.
Smoke - A cat that has a dark or coloured top coat, which is white or silver at the roots.

Shaded: Cat that is white at the base with the darker color starting half way down the hair shaft and extending to the tip.
Silver: Cat color usually the result of a white coat with black ticking.

Shaded & Tipped: The "shaded" coat has the colour extending down approximately half to two thirds the hair, with a white/ivory ground colour.

Shaded: all of the above self and tortie colours, including the silver versions, with varying degrees of shading. No distinction is made between shaded and tipped as one can grade into the other.
All the above colours have green eyes.

SHADED SILVER
COAT COLOUR:The undercoat should be pure white, with a mantle of black tipping shading gradually down the sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to pale on chin, chest, stomach, and under the tail, with the lips outlined in black.

The Shaded, or Burmilla, is the original Asian variety and originated in Britain in 1981, from an accidental mating of a female Lilac European Burmese (Bambino Lilac Faberge), and a male Chinchilla Silver Persian (Jemari Sanquist).

Asian Shaded cats are striking cats, which are the founding members of the group and commonly known as Burmillas. Their type is inherited from their Burmese parentage and the shaded coat comes from their Chinchilla Persian side.

Golden shaded and white is just one example of a tipped cat color and pattern. The cat illustrated is a golden shaded Australian Tiffanie cat called Gastonne.

Other modifiers account for whether the cat is a referred to as a smoke, a shaded, or a chinchilla.

The divisions incorporate the solid, shaded silvers, shaded goldens, cameos, and chinchillas. Also seen are smoke and tabby tortoiseshell and particular or bicolor. There are also shaded versions of the solid colors.

In the USA, there was an attempt to establish the Silver Persian as a separate breed called the Sterling, but it was not accepted and Silver and Golden longhaired cats, recognized by CFA more specially as Chinchilla Silvers, Shaded Silvers, ...

The Burmilla is a cat of Burmese type and temperament but its most impressive feature is the sparkling shaded or tipped coat.

White, black, blue, red, chinchilla silver, shaded silver, shell cameo (red chinchilla), shaded cameo(red shaded), black smoke, blue smoke, cameo smoke(red smoke), classic tabby pattern, mackerel tabby pattern, patched tabby pattern, ...

A deeper proportion of colour on the hair strand results in a shaded coat rather than the pale effect of a tipped (Chinchilla) pattern.

The coat may be either ‘tipped’ or ‘shaded’. Tipped means that only 1/8 of the hair tip is coloured, so the coat will actually look paler. A shaded coat is 1/4 coloured.

Mainly white in color, referred to as silver, the colors appear as either shaded or tipped. Shaded cats have more color on the individual hair shafts than the tipped variety which have the color coming a short way down the shafts from the tips.

This group includes the Burmilla, which may be shaded or tipped, the Bombay, which is a black self shorthair and an Asian if it is any other colour.

The coat colour is shaded. For example, with the silver variety, the fur is pure white underneath with black tips scattered evenly throughout the coat. This gives it a shimmery silver appearance. Chinchillas generally have green or blue-green eyes.

One of its most striking features, is its spectacular green eyes and the tipped and shaded varieties also display eye and lip liner that gives them such an appealing appearance too.

There are insecticides that can be sprayed on shaded areas around buildings or the yard. Remember not to spray when or where runoff could go into lakes or rivers. Read the label on all insecticides thoroughly and apply them as directed.

Their coats span a wide range of colours, including solid, shaded, smoke, tabby, particolour and point colours.

The body color should be uniform in color, but subtle shading and darker shaded areas on the coats of older cats is allowed, but there still must be a definite contrast between body color and point color.

Developed from a cross between the Chinchilla Persian and the Burmese, it is known for its shaded pattern, and short, sleek coat. Though silver is perhaps best known, other colors are also available.
