Tapeworm Infection in Cats: An Overview Dog Breeds Tapeworms are a type of parasite, also known as a cestode, which lives in the intestines of infected mammals.
Praziquantel is often the treatment of choice for broad fish tapeworm infections in cats and dogs. Although not FDA approved for this use in cats and dogs, it is a common and accepted practice to use the medication for this purpose.
