Third joint

Cat The OcicatTICA

GLOVES: Front paws: front paws have white gloves ending in an even line across the paw at, or between, the second or third joints.

GLOVES & GAUNTLETS: Front paws pure white gloved in an even line across the paws at the third joint.

In the ideal Birman, the matching white gloves on the front paws should end at or between the second and third joints of the paw. On the back paws, the gloves should cover all the toes and may extend up higher than the gloves on the front paws.

The small pad, located in the middle of the back side of the front paw and located above the third joint, is called metacarpal pad.
Mink
The colours of Tonkinese-points are called Mink.

The gloves on the front feet are exact and should end in an even line across the paw, although only the second of third joint. On the back paws the gloves should cover the entire toe area..

(Curiously, the cat is pure white at birth but develops color later in life.) The white covering on the front paw ends between the second and third joints of the paw, whereas in the back paws it covers all the toes and extends upward.
